Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Head of Accounting to lead our finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing, e-commerce, and import/export industries. This role requires strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and expertise in compliance, taxation, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Compliance
Oversee financial accounting, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Ensure strict compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory regulations, including timely and accurate filing of returns (GSTR 1, 2B, 3B, +).
Stay updated with changing tax laws and financial regulations to ensure business compliance.
Lead year-end financial closing, statutory audits, and internal audits, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards (GAAP/Ind AS).
2. Taxation & Audits
Manage all aspects of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and corporate taxation.
Handle tax audits, liaising with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
Ensure timely compliance with TCS (Tax Collected at Source) regulations.
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
Oversee vendor payments, invoice processing, and expense management for smooth operations.
Maintain accurate reconciliation of bank statements, ledgers, and accounts.
Ensure efficient cash flow management and working capital optimization.
4. Payroll & Employee Benefits Management
Supervise payroll processing, including tax deductions and compliance with labor laws.
Manage employee reimbursements, advances, and financial benefits as per company policies.
5. International Transactions & Inventory Management
Import/Export: Oversee all import/export documentation and compliance with customs and foreign trade regulations.
Inventory Control: Implement robust inventory control measures for manufacturing and e-commerce operations, ensuring accurate tracking and reconciliation.
6. Financial Reporting & Strategic Analysis
Generate detailed financial reports, variance analysis, and performance insights to support business decisions.
Conduct cost analysis, profitability assessments, and margin optimization for different business segments.
Develop financial models and forecasts for strategic planning.
7. Team Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team, ensuring high performance and adherence to deadlines.
Collaborate with manufacturing, e-commerce, operations, HR, and senior management to align financial strategies with business objectives.
8. System & Process Optimization
Oversee accounting software (Tally ERP, SAP, or other ERP systems) to maintain financial accuracy and automation.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and digital transformation in financial operations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
8-12 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Expertise in manufacturing, e-commerce, and import/export financial operations.
Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and compliance regulations.
Hands-on experience with Tally ERP, MS Office (Excel), and financial reporting tools.
Proven ability to manage financial audits, cash flow, and cost control strategies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
