Senior Accountant – Rebates & Incentive

Overview
The Global Business Service Center (GBSC) is tasked with the mission to add value by delivering operational excellence, enhanced customer experiences, and focused business results.
Role
Oversee the accounting for the Contra Revenue line particularly: rebates, incentives, waivers, and claw backs.
Responsibilities
• Run Sales Force Database reports and review contracts/deals executed with customers to capture financial elements into Contra Revenue System (CRS).
• Ensure and manage a timely and accurate close of the Contra Revenue System (CRS) sub ledger and Oracle general ledger, including creation and review of journal entries
• Communicate and collaborate with account managers to resolve any issues they may need assistance on related to rebates and incentive accruals
• Create and maintain deal workbook, deal performance and other excel based MIS for customer contracts created in CRS
• Review & approve Rebate & Incentive claims & supporting documents to ensure timely processing of customer claims within defined SLA
• Lead Country call meetings with the business managers to review and adjust accruals basis deal performance
• Preparation of GL recons for Waivers, Rebates, Advisors, and variance analysis of actual v/s forecast
• Prepare journals for contra revenue accruals and other required reclass journal entries in Oracle (if not catered for in the Contra Revenue System)
• Preparation of various analysis that may be requested relating to Rebates and Incentives.
• Assist in quarterly reporting for corporate team e.g., Balance sheet analysis - CBA Funded, Contra Accrual, out of pattern working, Prepaid working and Balance sheet recon in Multicurrency and in Local currency.
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly presentation decks e.g., R&I deck, Controller deck
• Assist with project specific work related to Rebates and Incentive for the region
All about you
• Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and current accounting concepts
• Advance MS Excel and financial/ERP systems, preferably direct experience with Oracle
• Strong foundation and experience in accounting
• Ability to produce accurate and reliable outputs/results
• Strong bias on controls and ensuring that processes and procedures are followed
• Results orientated with an ability to work under pressure and have a structured approach to deliverables
• Focused on achieving key outputs, with a sense of urgency and in a professional manner
• Able to adjust to improve/automate processes and systems – should be agile to adapt
• Ability to communicate effectively with account managers and fellow colleagues at various management levels
• Proactively builds relationships with business partners
• Experience performing basic issue resolution, gains exposure to the resolution of complex issues
• Prior experience in supporting business process transitions and process improvements projects
• Capable of working within a changing environment with excellent analytical, planning and organization skills
• Progressive accounting experience preferably in a large, global environment
Education/Certification
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Chartered accountant / CPA Preferred)
