Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accountant to facilitate the growing needs of our firm. The ideal candidate is organized, flexible, motivated and goal-focused with a professional demeanor and presentation. The Senior Accountant will assume a critical role, managing the day-to-day internal accounting activities of the firm and its various affiliated entities. We’re looking for someone with a growth mindset, who is ready to advance to the Controller role in the coming years. This role requires a full time presence in our Tempe/Mesa office.
General Accountabilities
• Manage all aspects of the firm’s accounting operations including accounts receivable and payable, general ledger maintenance and journal entries
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports including income statements, balance sheets and statement of cash flows
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights and recommendations to support decision making processes
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, prepare and maintain supporting schedules
• Prepare and maintain budgets and forecasts
• Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize financial performance
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency through automation, standardization and best practices
• Contribute to the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures
• Support the leadership team with special projects and initiatives
• Perform other accounting duties and support staff members, as required
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field required
• 5+ years of continuous experience in accounting
• Tech savvy with the ability to learn various software applications quickly
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints
Skill Requirements
• Highly proficient in QuickBooks, both Desktop and Online
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong knowledge of chart of accounts and adjusting journal entries
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly effective written and oral communication skills
• Strong sense of integrity and professionalism
