American National is seeking a full-time, Senior Accounting Analyst (Financial Reporting). If you have experience in financial reporting, preparation, and analysis and seeking a more diverse role where you can continue to develop your skills, we invite you to apply.
Onsite Placement Location: League City, and Houston TX.
What You Will Do
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and Board of Directors
• Prepare various reports and footnotes under basic accounting standards and statutory accounting
• Perform monthly/quarterly and year-end close activities that include journal entries and account reconciliations
• Safeguard accounting internal controls compliance
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or Finance (Preferred) Equivalent industry work experience with two-year degree in accounting, considered
• Three years’ + work experience in accounting, to include financial analysis, preparation, and reporting
• Direct experience with how to apply and utilize GAAP and/or STAT accounting principals
• Interest in leadership opportunities
• Desire to be involved in special project work that may include system conversion testing, sharing feedback on results, and providing recommendations for removing obstacles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work hours outside of normal business operations during peak periods
Not Required But Beneficial
• Public accounting work experience (Big-4)
• Insurance industry experience
• Experience in Workiva, Wings, and SAP. platforms
• Applicable industry designations/certifications/trainings
