The hiring range for this position is $28.02 - $32.22 per hour depending on qualifications. Under general supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, this position performs technical and administrative accounting work in maintaining the fiscal records and systems of the Town. This position works with various financial software systems in completing job duties and special projects and interacts with other Town employees, citizens and vendors.

The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.Accounts Payable: Manage the Town’s semi-automated accounts payable and encumbrance system for the processing of bi-weekly check runs, including, but not limited to: input of purchase order requisition data and issuance and distribution of purchase ordersinput of submitted accounts payable vouchers for payment processing validation of documentation, coding, pricing and extensions on department submissionspreparation of the positive pay file for upload to the depository bank.generation of checks and endorsement per written guidelines; mail or distributescan and electronically store images of checks and supporting documents for accounts payable maintenance of vendor data base including contact and W-9 informationcompletion of ACH form for applicable paymentsreconciliation of various payable accountscompletion and processing of Form 1099 annuallyAccounts Receivable: prepare invoices as needed ex: damage to Town property, retiree insurances, construction receivables reconcile certain revenue accounts work with third-party billing service regarding the Town’s ambulance serviceCash Activity: collect daily cash deposits from departments in Town Hall, including balancing to receipts, scanning checks electronically and counting cash for physical depositperform random petty cash audits Payroll Backup: enter data into automated payroll system, review wages computed and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll, prepare and upload direct deposit transmission data fileselectronically store images of payroll processing information prepare payroll-related reports for IRS, TMRS AND ICMA prepare various periodic returns and reports as neededFinancial Reporting: prepare, enter and approve various accounting journal entries assist in the development and publishing of annual budgetsassist in the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)prepare periodic financial, statistical or operational reports as assigned
