As a Senior Analyst, Investment Data Solutions, you will be a part of building and establishing a business-focused investment data management practice within Scotia Global Asset Management (SGAM) and will participate in the design and implementation of key data quality controls within the Investment Data Hub (IDH) platform. You will also be working with business and technology partners across SGAM on new data and reporting initiatives and delivery of data quality enhancements.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
Deliver and maintain accurate, complete and timely investment data sets in the IDH by proactively identifying and correcting data quality issues and responding to data or reporting enquiries
Provide first-line support for relevant data enquires and ensure support requests are handled promptly and accurately
Work with technical support teams from Scotia Global Wealth Engineering (GWE) and vendor to resolve production and data issues
Work with the Investment Data Solutions (IDS) team to define and draft business rules and data quality controls and ensure that data quality controls are in line with best practice standards
Engage with key partners and stakeholders to understand investment data and reporting requirements and participate in design, planning, testing, and solutions delivery
Participate in IDS projects and other cross functional projects as assigned
Contribute to defining governance strategies and the creation of related standards, policies and procedures for IDS to support enterprise data frameworks and best practices
Contribute to daily Markit EDM operational tasks to ensure data quality and completeness
Participate in the implementation and testing of scheduled system releases
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
Bachelor’s degree, with a technology or business focus, or equivalent education and experience
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SQL queries
Previous experience with core investment data domains (e.g. positions, security reference, pricing and benchmarks)
Knowledge of Markit EDM,or similar application, and/or Bloomberg is an asset
An ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with business partners and effectively communicate with both business and technology data stakeholders
Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
