Senior Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
Manage accounting functions for the medical indemnity insurance entity, including preparing accounting entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of regulatory reports to APRA.
Collaborate with the Group Accounting team to ensure compliance with AASB 17 disclosures in the financial statements.
Maintain awareness of Australian financial regulations and insurance accounting practices to ensure company compliance.
Support internal audit processes and adhere to all regulatory standards, including APRA regulations and ASIC requirements.
Requirements:
Minimum 6 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
Strong understanding of Australian Insurance accounting practices.
Experience with Australian tax laws and regulatory requirements (GST, BAS, stamp duty, APRA regulations).
Experience with financial reporting and compliance with AASB standards.
