Job Description
To oversee the accounting function and balance sheet management for 4 regions, ensuring financial integrity and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting
• Prepare complex financial reports and statements to inform senior management decisions.
• Analyze and review General Ledger reconciliations performed by junior accountants.
• Evaluate financial data for General Ledger, Sales Records, Purchases Records, Inventory, and Annual Audit to ensure accuracy.
• Review Balance Sheet files and maintain ownership.
• HIGHLIGHT POTENTIAL RISKS IN THE BALANCE SHEET TO THE FINANCE MANAGER.
• Provide guidance on general accounting practices in line with group policy.
• Oversee account payable team and facilitate timely payment processing.
• Contribute to weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts in collaboration with treasury.
• Enforce internal controls, adhering to Puma's financial procedures and group control policies.
• Collaborate with Group Auditors on financial preparation.
Audit Review
• C-coordinate independent audits, provide necessary information, and work closely with auditors during the annual audit process.
• Prepare the Annual Financial Report, including financial statements, notes, supporting schedules, transmittal letter, and statistical information.
• Ensure company act compliance per jurisdiction in conjunction with the country finance lead.
Ad-hoc
• Develop and implement training programs to ensure financial system integrity (controls and technology).
• Test and maintain financial software systems to ensure their integrity.
• Implement new systems and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Explore efficient ways to manage system testing processes.
Experience and Qualifications:
• 7-10 years of strong accounting experience.
• Prior experience in people management is required.
• Familiarity with IFRS standards.
• Business-minded individuals are preferred.
• Demonstrated numeracy skills.
• Effective communication skills to articulate complex information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently.
• Tax knowledge (direct and indirect) is an asset.

• Regional FM, Regional tax team, Country finance leads (Internal).
