XNRGY Climate Systems is a North American leader in sustainable design and advanced manufacturing of custom air treatment systems focused on research and energy development contributing to the reduction of carbon footprint. XNRGY is seeking a qualified Senior Staff Accountant to join its team located in St-Hubert. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this person is responsible supporting the finance department overseeing accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
An overview of your responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations.
• Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements within deadlines.
• Actively contribute to month-end and year-end closings in collaboration with various teams.
• Oversee bank and accounting reconciliations, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
• Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit requests.
• Analyze budget variances, particularly related to fixed costs.
• Improve financial reporting tools and methods to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Document and standardize accounting procedures to strengthen internal controls.
Operational tasks:
• Enter and validate accounting entries (daily and adjustment entries).
• Monitor and reconcile accounts (customers, suppliers, treasury).
• Participate in payroll data integration into the accounting system.
• Maintain thorough archiving of supporting documents and financial records.
What you'll need, among other things!
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in accounting/finance.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP standards.
• Experience with ERP software (SAP, Epicor, etc.) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong analytical skills: Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable
recommendations.
• Excellent organizational skills: Ability to manage priorities in a demanding environment.
• Team spirit: Ability to collaborate with operational teams and cross-functional departments.
• Bilingual in French and English (mandatory for international communications).
