Senior Technical Manager

We are seeking an experienced and technically sound senior person who can handle all technical operations of our broadcast station. The ideal candidate will possess deep hands-on expertise in Grass Valley equipment such as routers, ITX, IS750, video switchers, and audio mixers, as well as Avid systems including Media Composer, Interplay, and NEXIS. The role also demands a strong understanding of non-linear editing (NLE) workflows, MCR automation, PCR operations, and IT infrastructure (including Cisco switches and related networking).

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all station technical operations including PCR, MCR, NLE suites, ingest, playout systems, and server room infrastructure.
• Ensure smooth functioning and maintenance of Grass Valley broadcast systems and Avid Interplay/NEXIS environments.
• Coordinate with editorial, production, and IT teams to ensure seamless workflow integration.
• Oversee implementation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of MCR automation systems.
• Manage PCR equipment including vision/audio mixers, routers, intercom, and graphics systems to ensure reliable live and recorded production output.
• Supervise technical teams across editing, playout, ingest, and transmission functions.
• Administer server room infrastructure, including networking, storage, and backup systems, ensuring uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree: B. Tech in Electronics & Telecommunications / IT or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in broadcast technical roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership/supervisory capacity.

Proven hands-on experience with:
• Grass Valley systems (e.g., K-Frame, Kahuna, routers, Mult viewers, ITX, IS750)
• Avid Media Composer, Interplay, and NEXIS storage
• PCR systems, including video/audio switchers, tally, graphics, and intercom
• Non-linear editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer)
• Server room administration, networking (LAN/WAN), RAID-based storage, and backup systems
• Willingness to support and manage 24x7 technical operations.
