We are seeking a driven, people-focused leader to lead a group of 4-6 Therapeutic Group Managers in our Pharmaceutical Funding team.
The Pharmaceutical Funding team play a pivotal role in securing medicines and vaccines on behalf of New Zealanders. Across a range of assigned therapeutic groups, the team support strategic and transactional activities. The team use rigorous clinical, economic and commercial market analysis to develop funding proposals, and lead complex contract negotiations with pharmaceutical companies. This work directly impacts Pharmac's core purpose to deliver the best health outcomes from the New Zealand governments investment in medicines and medical devices.
This position is a member of the Pharmaceutical Funding Leadership team, and contributes to driving a positive, high-performing culture across the Pharmaceutical Funding team. As a Team Leader, you will support the development of Therapeutic Group Managers, and enable them to flourish in their roles.
As well as leading a team of Therapeutic Group Managers, you will be responsible for leading and managing Pharmac strategies for pharmaceutical funding, including expenditure management, within assigned therapeutical groups. You will lead the development of funding proposals and outline the impact of pharmaceutical expenditure, along with negotiating contracts with pharmaceutical companies.

Strong written skills, with an ability to write recommendations in a succinct manner
Proven contract negotiation skills, with an ability to understand legal and commercial considerations
Strong relationship management skills, with experience developing effective working relationships with diverse, and challenging, stakeholders

This role is Band 9, with a total range of $128,377 - $160,471 total remuneration, inclusive of 3% KiwiSaver Employer contribution. The appointment salary is subject to the preferred candidate's relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
