The Atlantic Group has partnered with a reputable consulting firm in Boston looking for a talented Staff Accountant to join their team!
The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in establishing an efficient month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across the organization. This position supports the Director of Accounting in various tasks to ensure all accounting functions are executed correctly.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly accounting entries, including leases, accruals, and prepayments.
• Handle payroll journals and reconciliations.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Conduct IC reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Prepare revenue schedules and reconciliations.
• Review and analyze monthly P&L statements.
• Prepare software capitalization schedules.
• Assist with processing accounts payable invoices.
• Support annual external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly bank covenants.
• Provide backup for other finance department duties as needed and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Exceptional attention to detail, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
