Are you an experienced Staff Accountant passionate about precision and financial excellence? Our client, a multi-state law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking an individual to lead financial management initiatives and uphold the highest standards.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, generating detailed reports, and managing monthly close activities related to preparing financial statements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Perform extensive reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets.
- Develop a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes.
- Coordinate and execute month-end close activities as per schedule.
- Timely reporting of monthly financial information.
- Assist the Accounting Manager, Controller, and CFO with daily financial requirements.
- Prepare documentation and explanations for monthly financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, and senior management analysis.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, work papers, accruals/corrections, and variance analysis.
- Aid in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Analyze operating expenses, including budget comparisons and trends.
- Address inquiries from Senior Management and auditors regarding financial results and special reports.
- Support Accounting Manager, Controller, and CFO in special projects.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Adhere to corporate policies and procedures.
- Interface with management across various departments.
- Assist with additional duties and projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Four years of relevant experience.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with major market ERP systems required, MS Dynamics-AX experience a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Strong focus on process improvement with sound business judgment.
- Aptitude for data analysis and forming sound conclusions.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and technical accounting proficiency.
- Quick learner of new systems and processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player willing to collaborate within and beyond the department.
- Exceptionally organized with strong multitasking abilities.
- Conscientious about deadlines, time management, and attendance.
