Job Description
Manage daily retail operations across the store and online orders, ensuring a smooth
customer experience from enquiry through to purchase and delivery
Lead customer service standards for high value handmade rugs, including product
guidance on materials, origins, sizing, and care, with a strong focus on trust and repeat
business
Plan and manage product assortment across core categories and sizes, aligning stock
levels with seasonality, demand trends, and store presentation
Oversee inventory control, receiving, tagging, stock movements, and accurate product
listings, working closely with the team to maintain clean and reliable product data
Coordinate scheduling and customer communication for services including home trials,
rug wash, and repair and restoration enquiries, ensuring clear quoting and timely follow
up
Drive local marketing execution, including promotions, store campaigns, and basic
content coordination to support online traffic and in store conversions
Manage budgets, sales targets, margin performance, and weekly reporting, identifying
actions to improve conversion, average order value, and stock turn
Recruit, train, roster, and supervise staff, setting clear expectations and coaching the team
to deliver consistent results
Maintain safe work practices for manual handling, storage, and store operations, and
ensure the workplace is kept professional and customer ready
Maintain strong process discipline using POS, inventory systems, and order tracking,
with clear documentation for stock, returns, and financial transactions
Familiarity with Iranian culture, artistic traditions, and historical textile heritage, particularly in
relation to handmade rugs and decorative arts
Knowledge of Persian rug styles, regional weaving techniques, motifs, materials, and cultural
symbolism
Experience working with or selling Iranian handmade products, including rugs, textiles,
ceramics, or traditional handicrafts
Understanding of the craftsmanship, storytelling, and cultural significance behind handmade
Iranian art and artisan production
Ability to confidently communicate the cultural background and authenticity of handmade rugs
to customers, enhancing trust and storytelling in the sales experience
Appreciation for traditional Iranian handicrafts such as weaving, embroidery, ceramics, and
other artisan practices that complement handmade rug collections
Ability to engage effectively with customers from Persian-speaking or culturally diverse
backgrounds
ABOUT YOU
Proven experience managing a retail store, showroom, or specialty retail business
Strong skills in sales leadership, customer service, and team supervision
Confident with inventory, ordering, pricing, and basic retail financial reporting
Comfortable working with high value products and customers who expect detailed advice
Organised and dependable, with the ability to manage competing priorities across sales,
stock, and service bookings
Have a minimum of computer skills across POS and ecommerce administration
Available for a part time roster that may include weekend coverage
