Reporting to: Group ChiefFinancial Officer (GCFO)
Job Overview:
As the Group Financial Controller , you will be heading financial control &operations of the entire organization, ensuring compliance withglobal accounting standards, and providing strategic financialguidance. Reporting to the Group CFO and working closely with thefounders, you will be responsible for overseeing financialaccounting and reporting, finance and tax compliance/control aswell as treasury and banking operations. You will also work closelywith the Group COO to bring robustness & discipline withregards to financial reporting by reviewing and improving existingprocesses and finance IT systems.
This is an opportunityto drive true impact Emeritus' performance, where you will alsowork closely with CEOs of 8 lines-of-business who drive P&Lsgenerating $50-200m in revenue, as well as functional CXOs.Additionally, you will draw on your prior experience in preparingcompanies for Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) to ensure Emeritus'is also ready for the same over a 2-4 year timeframe.
Responsibilities:
FinancialControllership and Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present accurate books andrelated financial reports, statements, and analysis to supportmanagement decision-making and inform externalstakeholders.
Lead the monthly book closureactivities.
Responsible for completion of quarterlyaudits, annual statutory audits and internal audits in a timelymanner with no significant adverse observations.
Ensureall corrective actions recommended arising from observations madein audits are addressed in timely manner andimplemented.
Responsible for monthly and annual closureof books of accounts for 12 entities spread across the globeincluding India.
Finance and TaxCompliance and Control:
Ensure compliance withrelevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and companypolicies.
Responsible for statutory compliances GST,TDS, VAT, Income Tax and other payroll related,globally.
Implement and maintain strong financialcontrols and governance procedures to mitigate financialrisks.
Drive all internal processes related to taxoptimisation across LoBs, functions and geographies (i.e. transferpricing)
IPO Preparation & FundRaising:
Lead activities with regards to theGroup's IPO readiness along with the Group CFO structure, financialreporting, liaising with third-party advisors, coordination withthe public market regulator etc.
Steer relevant people,process and system changes within Emeritus to ensure timely andaccurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financialstatements and relevant reports.
Collaborate withinternal and external stakeholders to address the financialrequirements and ensure a smooth IPO process.
Support inthe Group's pre-IPO fund-raising efforts, including all related duediligence activities.
TeamManagement:
Manage and mentor a team offinance professionals, fostering a high-performance culture andcontinuous skill development.
Treasury & BankingOperations and Procurement
Responsible for all treasuryand banking operations
Lead the procurement team driveefforts to optimise costs across vendors and overhaul/ improve theP2P process.
Qualifications andExperience:
• Qualified CharteredAccountant with a proven track record in building and managing ahigh-performance financial controlfunction
• Minimum of 15 years ofpost-qualification experience in financial leadership roles, someof which will have been gained in B2C or D2Cbusinesses
• Prior experience in preparingcompanies for Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) is stronglypreferred. Alternatively, you will have significant experience ofleading all aspects of financial reporting in a listed business ofscale.
• Strong technical knowledge ofaccounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxregulations.
• Proven experience in managingteams and driving results.
• Excellent communication andpresentation skills.
• Ability to work collaborativelyand influence decision-making at the senior managementlevel.
