Team Leader - Education and Career Services

Canteen is all about supporting young people and their families affected by cancer. Founded by young cancer patients, we offer programs and resources that truly make a difference for 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or grieving. We are now seeking a Team Leader - Education and Career Services, who will play a pivotal role in education and career development. The Team Leader is responsible for leading and developing a team of ECS Consultants to deliver high-quality Education and Career Services. The role involves providing active and engaging line management, leadership, and guidance to the team, monitoring their performance, and ensuring the achievement of key performance indicators and service deliverables. Additionally, the Team Lead will support the development of ECS Consultants, participate in strategic planning, promote staff wellbeing and engagement, and travel to support the team and engage with stakeholders.

Base Salary + Superannuation + Not-For-Profit Salary Packaging (up to $18,550 of your salary tax-free).
5 Weeks Annual Leave (FTE) + 17.5% leave loading + pay during our annual office closure week.

About our role

Lead, coach and develop a team of ECS Consultants to deliver best practice education and career services.
Provide specialised individual career development services that support young people to engage successfully in education and/or employment pathways.
Build effective relationships with internal and relevant external stakeholders such as hospital teams, outpatient clinics, other cancer support organisations and the wider community sector to build effective networks.
Lead key service enhancement projects in line with the ECS Evaluation recommendations.
Participate in working groups and committees as part of Canteen’s commitment to cross organisational collaboration.
About You

A relevant post-graduate qualification in career development and eligibility for professional membership with CDAA (or equivalent), aligned with CICA registration requirements.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing digital teams, with a focus on team culture and performance.
Proven experience in building effective relationships with external stakeholders to drive organisational awareness and service growth.
Demonstrated expertise in working with young people, in allied health settings, community settings, mental health settings, bereavement settings and/or psycho-oncology settings.
Demonstrated experience in effective networking and collaboration with other service providers to build strong inter-agency networks.
Working with Children Check, current Australian drivers’ licence.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including facilitation and presentation capability.
High-level digital literacy including client management systems and digital hosting platforms.
A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
