Textile Designer

Own Adaa, a Delhi-based Indo-Western womenswear startup, is seeking a passionate Textile Designer to be a part of our expanding creative team. As a Textile Designer at Own Adaa, your primary responsibility will be to craft distinctive and original textile prints, overseeing the design process from conception to production while ensuring that each creation resonates with our brand's vision. You will collaborate closely with vendors, manage sampling processes, and supervise fabric approvals to uphold our stringent quality standards.

Your key duties will involve researching trends to develop unique textile prints adorned with intricate Indian motifs. You will curate mood boards, color palettes, and print layouts that harmonize with the brand's aesthetic. Additionally, you will guide the creation and refinement of textile prints, guaranteeing exceptional quality at every step.

In terms of collaboration and production, you will partner with mills, vendors, and suppliers to bring forth exclusive textiles. Your role will entail managing swatch and strike-off approvals meticulously, ensuring precise color and print execution. Overseeing the sampling process and ensuring timely production while upholding brand quality will also be part of your responsibilities, with a potential opportunity to collaborate with Indian craftsmen on upcoming projects.

To align fabric inventory with market demands, you will monitor and optimize stock levels for production. Conducting trend analysis and market research will be essential in driving the development of collections. You will also be required to optimize fabric selection and pricing strategies across various collections.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a degree in Textile Design from reputable institutes such as NIFT or Pearl, along with a minimum of 1 year of experience in textile design. Proficiency in Illustrator & Photoshop, a deep understanding of textile printing techniques, and experience in swatch & strike-off approvals will be crucial. A keen eye for color, texture, and fabric selection is essential, with a bonus for experience in inventory management and vendor coordination.
