The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of US GAAP, IRS regulations, and cannabis-specific tax rules such as 280 E .
Key Responsibilities Accounting & BookkeepingManage full-cycle accounting including AP, AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations Maintain general ledger and month-end close processes Prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP ******** Industry ComplianceEnsure compliance with IRS Section 280 E tax regulations Track cost of goods sold (COGS) vs non-deductible expenses Work with cannabis-specific POS/accounting tools (e.g., Dutchie, Flowhub, MJ Freeway, Quick Books ) Tax & RegulatoryAssist with federal and state tax filings for ******** businesses Prepare tax provisions and workpapers Coordinate with CPA firms and tax advisors for filings and audits Financial ReportingPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Create budget vs actual analysis Develop financial insights for management decision making Audit & ComplianceSupport financial audits and regulatory audits Maintain documentation required for state ******** compliance Required SkillsStrong knowledge of US GAAP and US accounting practices Experience with Quick Books Online / Net Suite Understanding of IRS Section 280 E Advanced Excel / Financial modeling Knowledge of inventory accounting Preferred QualificationsCPA license or CPA candidate Experience working with ******** dispensaries, cultivators, or manufacturers Experience with multi-state ******** operations Familiarity with seed-to-sale tracking systems Soft Skills
