• Financial Strategy, Budgeting & Business Planning:
• Lead and implement company-wide financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting exercises aligned with strategic growth plans.
• Develop long-term financial models for scenario planning, investment needs, and cost-benefit analysis.
• Provide city-wise, vertical-wise, and product-wise profitability insights to assist business heads in optimizing operational efficiency.
• Present monthly and quarterly budget vs. actual reports, highlighting deviations and suggesting corrective actions.
• Fundraising, Investor Relations & Board Reporting:
• Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership on equity fundraising, debt financing, and investor engagements.
• Oversee the cap table, manage investment terms, coordinate with third-party valuers, and lead financial diligence processes.
• Prepare investor dashboards, board-level MIS packs, and business performance reports for quarterly and annual reviews.
• Serve as the financial spokesperson with institutional investors, strategic partners, and lenders.
• Statutory Compliance, Taxation & Regulatory Governance:
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, ROC filings, FEMA, and other relevant financial regulations.
• Oversee tax return filing, statutory audits, and responses to regulatory notices.
• Implement strong internal control systems to minimize discrepancies, fraud, or compliance risks.
• Foster a zero-non-compliance culture and ensure adherence to timelines and documentation standards.
• Accounting, Financial Operations & Reporting:
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including book closures, ledger accuracy, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Ensure preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
• Manage vendor payments, receivables, revenue recognition, and inter-company accounting entries.
• Generate and present timely MIS reports for senior leadership, covering cash flows, cost ratios, burn rate, and profitability.
• Cash Flow Management, Working Capital & Treasury:
• Develop and monitor cash flow forecasts, maintaining healthy liquidity buffers for business continuity.
• Manage banking relationships, credit lines, and vendor negotiations while optimizing fund allocation for business priorities.
• Oversee working capital planning, reducing receivable cycles, inventory tie-ups, and vendor disputes.
• Track fund utilization and support CAPEX planning for new business verticals and geographies.
• ERP Implementation, Digitization & Process Automation:
• Lead ERP system implementation and optimization for finance and accounts operations.
• Automate manual finance processes like vendor payouts, reimbursements, reconciliations, and tax filings.
• Identify tech tools and workflows to improve financial reporting speed, accuracy, and visibility.
• Introduce dashboards and real-time analytics to support data-driven decision-making across departments.
• Leadership, Team Building & Stakeholder Management:
• Build and manage a strong Finance & Accounts team with clear KRAs, review mechanisms, and succession plans.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, training sessions, and capability-building for team members across locations.
• Act as a financial partner to business heads, providing accurate data and strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Strategy, Sales, HR, and Tech, to align financial goals with organizational objectives.
• Key Requirements:
• Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum 15 years in Finance & Accounts, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing P&L, fundraising, and compliance.
• Industry Background: Proven experience in high-growth companies, preferably in PropTech, Real Estate, Infrastructure, or Tech-led Startups.
• Financial Knowledge: Strong understanding of Indian financial regulations, statutory compliance, taxation, accounting standards, and corporate governance.
• Reporting & Investor Relations: Experience in managing board-level reporting, investor relations, and audits.
• ERP & Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience in ERP implementation, financial controls, and MIS systems.
• Leadership & Communication Skills: Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication abilities.
• Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Working Environment: Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, target-driven environment with the capacity to adapt to rapid scaling and ambiguity.
