About the role

LEVEL 5 - $88,717 to $100,386 plus 17% Superannuation (depending on experience)
Fixed Term – 12 month (until end of July 2026)
Full Time (35 hours per week)
This is a newly created role that will provide effective day-to-day administrative support within the School of Psychology to ensure all services are provided efficiently to meet the operating needs of the School. More specifically, the role will provide support to Course Coordinators for ELS and the Ethics Committee.

The role reports to the School Manager and has no direct reports. At this stage, the role is funded until July 2026 only. The role is hybrid, Monday to Friday.

Specific responsibilities for this role include:

Provide high level administrative support to the School of Psychology leadership and other nominated teams across the School
Act as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
Provide high level administrative support to Course Coordinators relating to Equitable Learning Services, and to the Human Research Ethics Approval Panel (HREAP-C) and associated SONA administration
Contribute to the effective operation of the Committee by developing a sound understanding of HREAP-C processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency, assisting with reviewer coordination, and interfacing with iRECS for application tracking, processing and record-keeping
Assist researchers in preparing human research ethics applications and modifications, including preliminary reviews for completeness and consistency prior to Committee consideration
Support researchers by working with the Committee to prepare clear guidance materials, maintaining up-to-date resources, and responding to queries to help ensure applications meet procedural requirements
Provide effective specialist advice relating to administrative guidelines, processes and activities
Develop and maintain detailed filing systems, spreadsheets, databases, websites and other administrative systems
Draft agendas, minutes, correspondence, briefing notes, and guidelines for specific committees and meetings as required
Arrange, support and promote meetings and events for internal and external stakeholders
Participate in relevant projects and business improvement activities to streamline processes and facilitate administrative efficiency
About the successful applicant

To be successful in this role you will have:

Previous administrative experience, ideally in ethics administration in the higher education sector
Previous experience working within research ethics would be highly regarded
Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines
Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels
Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives
