Hours Per Week: 37.50
Pay Range: $3+.34 – Payband I

The Alumni Engagement and Development Officer is a critical member of the Alumni and Foundation team that informs and supports strategic fundraising and engagement activities for the College. They work closely with other Alumni and Foundation team members and the broader College community to develop meaningful and lifelong alumni engagement opportunities with the College, while taking a leadership role in outreach and fostering a culture of philanthropy and volunteerism.
Qualifications:
Three-year Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Fundraising, Project Management, Not-for-Profit Administration, or Business Administration.
Minimum three years’ work experience in one or more of the following: constituent relationship management, community/alumni engagement, volunteer management, program creation, project management, customer experience delivery or partnership-building.
Demonstrated skills in planning and executing high profile and complex events.
Experience in securing various levels of sponsorship and/or monetary donations.
Strong knowledge and experience with digital and traditional communications, content creation and management, and leveraging social media platforms.
Skilled in in-person presentations, and meeting and communicating with existing and potential stakeholders.
Recent experience in supporting successful funding proposals, including writing and/or editing and reporting.
Familiarity with trends and best practices in fundraising and development.
Experience working in a cloud-based productivity environment such as Microsoft 365, and with fundraising or CRM platforms such as Raiser’s Edge NXT.
In-person, on-campus position. Must be able to reliably commute daily and/or relocate to North Bay, ON
Responsibilities:
Leads the planning and execution of all Alumni engagement activities and events, including annual golf tournament, annual Hall of Fame recognition event, social events (local, provincial and national), class reunions, convocations and student-alumni initiatives.
Leads development and execution of a comprehensive Alumni Annual Giving program, including shared coordination of fundraising and donor relations initiatives to increase donations and participation year over year.
Identifies individual and corporate alumni donor prospects and solicits gifts. Local and/or extended travel may be necessary.
Informs the Corporate, Community and Alumni Partnership annual plan and budget by supporting the development of the Alumni operational plan and budget. Prepares and monitors event and activity budgets and directs suppliers/vendors supporting alumni engagement activities.
Develops standard processes, guidelines and metrics for Alumni engagement in events, programs and/or activities, with a focus on growing the College’s donor pipeline.
Creates event, activity and program promotional materials, coordinating with corporate Marketing, Recruitment and Storytelling and other departments.
Creates and actively engages in social media messaging and other communications focused on Alumni achievements, events/activities and success stories; prepares and monitors content for communications and messaging platforms, and media.
Advises team members on preparation and updating of records in alumni/donor database as a result of contacts with Alumni, in order to maintain record accuracy and relevancy, and monitor alumni engagement and donation metrics.
Secretary to Alumni Board; takes minutes, maintains official Alumni records and coordinates all correspondence with Board members.
Prepares reports on events, programs and activities, conducts environmental scans and compiles alumni-related content as required for fundraising proposals and other departmental initiatives.
Coordinates Affinity partnerships to ensure excellence in services provided to Alumni and an enhanced revenue stream.
Acts as the primary contact and resource for the College and external community regarding Canadore Alumni. Responds to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders and manages the alumni@canadorecollege.ca email account.
