Full job description
As an Area Manager, you’ll lead and support a team of Kaitātaki (Team Leaders) to provide high quality, culturally grounded support to tāngata whaiora (people we support). You’ll oversee service delivery across your region, working closely with your teams to ensure tāngata are supported to live with dignity, independence and connection.
This is a senior leadership role that combines people leadership, operational oversight and cultural integrity. You’ll build string, high performing teams and ensure services reflect our kaupapa Māori values in day to day practice.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading and coaching Kaitātaki to grow effective, connected and values-based teams
Overseeing service delivery across multiple whare, ensuring safe and consistent support
Monitoring performance, reporting, audits, health and safety and quality improvement
Supporting recruitment, induction, staff development and performance management
Managing workforce planning and contributing to strategic service development
Building strong relationships with tāngata, whānau, iwi and community partners
Ensuring kaupapa Māori values and te ao Māori are upheld across your region

What you’ll bring:
A least 5 years’ leadership experience in disability, health, aged care or social services
Proven ability to lead people, drive performance and manage change
Strong planning, budgeting and operational management skills
Excellent communication and relationship building across diverse teams and stakeholders
A calm, proactive and supportive approach to leadership
Openness to kaupapa Māori ways of working and a commitment to inclusive practice
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field is preferred
Full driver’s licence and flexibility to travel across your region
