About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as an Assistant Commercial Analyst who will report to the Finance Manager – National Finance & Transformation Projects, this role will assist with capex reporting, impairment review and Metcash Horizon project implementation. The role will mainly focus on capex reporting and budget/forecast requirements, including project capitalisation, benefits tracking and depreciation. It will also assist with the Pillar’s bi-annual impairment review and support Metcash Horizon implementation.
In this Role
Preparation of monthly reporting and quarterly budgeting/forecasting for Food capex projects
Accurate preparation of monthly journals and balance sheet reconciliations in line with Metcash reporting timelines
Work closely with Finance Manager on half year and full year asset impairment review
Assist with external auditors during half-year review and full-year audit
Assist with process mapping and UAT testing to support Metcash Horizon implementation
You’re Likely a Match If
At least 2 years work experience (does not have to be in finance)
Graduate degree in accounting or similar
CPA / CA qualified or looking to complete either post graduate course
Previous experience working with MS 365, PowerBI, TM1, Power Enterprise, Power Query and PowerPivot would be an advantage
Ability to work independently, bring a positive attitude, and show a genuine eagerness to learn and develop professionally
Possess active listening skills and the ability to understand and apply accounting concepts appropriately
