The Global Markets Trading business interacts with all internal divisions and teams within CBA to deliver appropriate hedging strategies for the client base across Fixed Income and Currency products.
The COO FIC Trading team is responsible for overseeing the operations within a FIC trading division. This role involves ensuring that trading activities in these asset classes are executed efficiently, risk is managed appropriately, and regulatory requirements are met. We support the Global Trading desks across FX, Interest Rate Derivatives, Securities Financing, High Grade Bonds and Credit.

Reporting to the Executive Director, FIC Trading COO, You will contribute to the build out and execution of Trading strategy establishing and improving specific trade processes, risk management processes, maintaining regulatory compliance, and optimising traded products. You will work with the Trading team and end to end stakeholders in owning and delivering product and business initiatives across the business.
Your responsibilities:
Contribute to the strategic direction of Trading products within Global Markets.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and key business initiatives.
Develop and design new product features or enhance existing ones to meet identified needs and opportunities.
Collaborate with the broader COO team and the Trading business on product development and other business initiatives as needed.
Engage with stakeholders across technology, risk, compliance, capital, finance, and operations to ensure efficient delivery and issue resolution.
Address complex ad-hoc problems and issues, escalating them as necessary.
Identify and implement process improvements across the entire product lifecycle.
Prepare committee papers and business presentations as required
Handle ad hoc queries and initiatives from the trading team and supporting teams as they arise.
Proactively identify, articulate, and manage risks and compliance for traded products.
Engage with external counterparties (eg clearing houses, suppliers etc) and manage the onboarding process.
Stay informed about external market trends, including regulatory changes, economic developments, and innovations.

This will be a hands on role, requiring a highly motivated self-starter with proven stakeholder management skills and a commercial acumen that can meet the rapid delivery demands of the business. As such, we require a highly skilled and experienced candidate with;
A minimum of 7 years of experience in Global Markets front office dealer roles or related support areas, including Business Management, Product Control, Market Risk, Operations, or Technology.
Familiarity with financial market products, such as FX, Interest Rate Derivatives, Securities Financing, High Grade Bonds, and Credit.
Some understanding of the Front to Back Trade lifecycle, including Trade Execution, Booking Models, Valuation, Risk, and Operations processes.
Proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced work environments.
Experience in engaging with stakeholders and navigating complex ecosystems and issues.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Demonstrated success in collaborating with and managing stakeholders across multiple global teams
