Banking Operations Executive

Job Summary The Banking Operations Executive will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and improving various banking processes related to account maintenance, transaction processing, clearing, compliance checks, document verification, reporting, and internal coordination. The role requires accuracy, speed, integrity, and a deep understanding of standard banking procedures and customer service protocols. This is a back-end operational role with occasional customer-facing interactions (depending on branch needs).Key Responsibilities1. Account Opening & Documentation Process account opening requests for savings, current, salary, and fixed deposit accounts. Verify KYC documents and ensure compliance with RBI and bank guidelines. Coordinate with sales teams and relationship managers for documentation completion. Update customer profiles, nomination details, and account modifications in the core banking system. 2. Transaction Processing & Reconciliation Monitor and process customer transactions including NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, cheque clearing, and fund transfers. Reconcile cash, cheque, and digital transactions at the end of the day. Investigate discrepancies or transaction failures and coordinate resolution. Handle inward and outward clearing files and ensure timely posting. 3. Customer Service Support (Back-End) Support front desk teams by validating service requests and executing them internally. Coordinate issuance or cancellation of debit cards, cheque books, and account statements. Assist in the processing of standing instructions, auto-debits, ECS mandates, and NACH services. 4. Compliance, Risk, and Reporting Maintain records as per audit requirements and RBI mandates. Assist in AML (Anti Money Laundering) checks, monitoring high-value transactions, and STR (Suspicious Transaction Reports). Ensure proper filing, document retention, and audit readiness. Submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to branch operations head and central office. 5. Loan Support (Optional/Branch Specific) Provide back-end documentation support for personal loans, business loans, and credit card applications. Ensure credit processing files are complete and coordinated with credit/risk teams. Track disbursement status and repayment schedules. 6. Digital Banking & Tech Support Assist in onboarding customers to digital platforms (mobile app, net banking). Handle technical queries or activation requests for digital services. Escalate unresolved issues to the IT or service desk team. 7. Cross-functional Coordination Coordinate with internal departments such as compliance, audit, treasury, and IT for various tasks. Support business teams during audits, surprise checks, and regulatory inspections.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Banking, Finance, Economics, or related field. Additional certifications in banking operations (e.g., IIBF, NISM, or NCFM modules) are preferred. Experience: Minimum years of experience in a banking or financial services back-office role.
