Job description, work day and responsibilities
Full time (40 hours every two week pay period). Day Shift/Benefits Eligible
Bellevue Location
Maintain equipment in a safe and proper operating condition. Lead on specialties within the medical fields, such as Perioperative, Respiratory Therapy, Dialysis, X-Ray/Imaging etc. Repair, calibrate, and maintain all types of medical equipment technologies, devices, instruments, life support equipment and support systems of moderate complexity within assigned areas. Inspect, install and provide preventative maintenance to all types of medical equipment within assigned areas. Provide training to medical and nursing staff in the use of equipment. Ensure the Maintenance program meets DNV/JCAHO, local, state, and federal compliance requirements. May lead and train other Clinical Engineers and Hospital staff, providing in services and contributing to special projects as needed.
Required Education and Experience
AA degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, or equivalent training in Biomedical Equipment Maintenance in a recognized training institution, such as military service schools, or comparable civilian programs.
Seven (7) years or more experience in a Hospital Setting working as a BMET2 in the repair and calibration of medical equipment in a hospital setting.
Specialized training in one or more areas of expertise / IE: Perioperative Equipment, Endoscopes, Medical Microscopes, Imaging (X-Ray, Ultrasound), Ventilators, Lasers, Dialysis Machines, Management of Biomedical Services or a specific Medical Department.
Provide on-the-job training to other Clinical Engineering and hospital staff as requested by Leadership.
Required Credentials
N/A.
Preferred
AA degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, or equivalent training in Biomedical Equipment Maintenance in a recognized training institution, such as military service schools, or comparable civilian programs.
Certification by ICC/AAMI (International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering & Biomedical.
Technology/Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation).
Certified Training / OEM Credentials.
Project Management experience.
CBET, CRES a plus.
Compensation Range
$31.28 - $46.+3 per hour
Salary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
