Job Title: Medical Assistant – Oncology Rehabilitation Clinic (Travel Assignment)
Location: West Hollywood, CA
Start Date: August 11, 2025
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 5x8-Hour (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join a high-performing outpatient oncology rehabilitation clinic for a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will support a specialized patient population facing complex post-cancer treatment symptoms. This role demands strong clinical knowledge, administrative precision, and a compassionate approach to patient care in a structured outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist providers with exams and clinical procedures including injections and Qutenza patch application
Conduct patient intake, including rooming, vital signs (BP, temperature, respirations, pulse), and patient history
Review and follow up on lab results; support documentation of medications and allergies
Manage appointment scheduling, telephone triage, and prescription refill requests
Accurately label and process specimens; coordinate with pharmacy and lab when needed
Support the clinic with insurance verifications, authorization forms, and supply management
Educate patients on recovery programs such as cancer exercise, wellness, and survivorship initiatives
Use EPIC EMR to document clinical interactions and maintain updated patient records
Ensure exam rooms are stocked and prepped with necessary supplies
Provide administrative support such as chart prep, documentation, and coordinating with interdisciplinary staff
Maintain infection control and safety standards in accordance with clinical protocols
Clinic & Patient Details
Setting: 100% Adult Outpatient – Oncology Rehab
Patient Population: Individuals recovering from cancer treatment experiencing fatigue, lymphedema, neuropathy, chemo brain, speech/swallowing issues, and pain
Daily Visits: Approx. 25
Support Team: Phlebotomy, Unit Secretary, Oncology Specialists
Special Equipment: InBody composition analyzer, Voyce interpreter platform
Qualifications
Certification:
Medical Assistant Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program OR
National certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, NCCT, or MMCI
Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient or similar clinical setting
Experience in oncology or rehabilitation clinics preferred
Charting Experience: EPIC (preferred)
Additional Information
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Start Date Policy: Firm start date – August 11, 2025
RTO Restrictions: Must be declared at time of submission; no RTO allowed in the first 2 weeks
Vaccination: Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
