About Compassionate Veterinary Hospice
At Compassionate Veterinary Hospice, we help families provide peaceful, dignified end-of-life care to their beloved pets — right in the comfort of home. Our dedicated team of veterinarians and support staff is committed to bringing comfort, guidance, and compassion to families during one of life’s hardest moments.
Our environment is heart-centered and mission-driven. We support each other with empathy and kindness, creating a workplace where people feel valued and where the work we do every day feels profoundly rewarding.
As our practice grows, we are seeking a veterinarian who embraces compassionate care for our patients, their caregivers and each other. The ideal candidate approaches their work as partnering with the caregiver, the CVH team and other veterinary providers. Their demeanor is one of patience and empathy.
While this role has a primary focus of providing in-home euthanasias, it can grow into providing hospice/palliative care if desired.
The Role: In-Home/Mobile Veterinarian
As a Mobile/In-Home Veterinarian with our veterinary hospice practice, you will provide compassionate, client-focused palliative and end-of-life care to pets in the comfort of their homes. Your role involves building trusting relationships with pet families, assessing quality of life, managing pain and symptoms, and performing peaceful euthanasia when appropriate. You will work independently in the field, supported by a collaborative care team, to ensure each patient’s final stage of life is met with dignity, comfort, and respect. This position requires excellent communication skills, empathy, clinical proficiency, and a deep commitment to improving the human-animal bond during emotionally sensitive times.

Experienced support team who are skilled at financial discussions and leaves our DVMs to focus on client and patient care
Remote work outside of in-home visits
Professional development and awesome communication skills training
Qualifications
A team-oriented approach and the desire to help grow our practice
A vehicle in good repair to travel throughout Chicago and neighboring suburbs
A reliable Smartphone
A current, active license to practice veterinary medicine in Illinois

The ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs
