Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled painting work such as maintaining and repainting surfaces of existing products, painting newly constructed projects, and related work
This position works independently to safely prepare, paint detail aircraft according to schedule using company quality standards and operating procedures
Act on behalf of the Lead in their absence and provide assistance and work direction to other painters
This position is for the second shift
Coat surfaces of aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin, or other material, spray guns, and other devices and ensure high quality final parts
Prepares, paints, and finishes coating to aircraft, parts, and assemblies including set up the equipment used to paint aircraft components
Prepare composite and metal surfaces, sanding, water break testing as well as tape testing
Prep, mask, etch, plate, prime of composite components and parts
Performs detail touch ups
Must be able to utilize and maintain painting equipment and support with overall shop cleaning and maintenance
Be able to interface with employees and upper management from other departments and effectively communicate status of job and estimated completion dates
