Job Title: Conveyancing Legal Assistant
Department: Real Estate
Location (multiple): Peace River, Valleyview, Slave Lake, High Level
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant, who is highly organized and detail-oriented to join our real estate team. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and legal support to our legal team and assist with various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our law office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills and a passion for the legal field, specifically in real estate law.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Complete administrative duties such as making photocopies, emailing, faxing, etc.
Coordinate appointments, interacting with clients
Draft and complete legal real estate documents in Microsoft Word and Lawyer Done Deal; including documents regarding mortgages, disbursements, titles, searches, and more
Prepare contracts, sale and purchase documents
Organize and maintain documents in a paper and electronic filing systems
Complete accurate billing and invoicing
Facilitate communications between lawyers for buyer and seller
Communicate with mortgage brokers, banks, lawyers, clients
Strive for efficient workflow
Qualifications and Qualities preferred:
Experience in real estate law and knowledge of residential and commercial transactions considered an asset
Graduate of Legal Assistant or Paralegal program or similar would be an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
Familiarity with LDD (Lawyer Done Deal) considered an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Able to take direction and work independently
Highly organized and detail orientated
Strong work ethic
Reliable and Accountable
Exceptional problem-solving skills
Excellent proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy in all documentation
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Task management and prioritization skills, ability to meet tight deadlines
Experience required: 2+ years
Salary dependent on qualifications and experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
