The Deputy Manager for Loan Against Property (LAP) will be responsible for managing the end-to-end loan process, including customer acquisition, loan underwriting, documentation, and post-disbursement monitoring. The role involves ensuring compliance with the organization’s policies, risk assessment guidelines, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to drive business growth while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
Identify and engage potential customers for LAP through various channels such as direct sales, referrals, and marketing activities.
Build and maintain relationships with property owners, real estate brokers, and other stakeholders to generate leads.
Analyze market trends to identify new business opportunities and product offerings.
Loan Processing & Underwriting:
Conduct in-depth financial and credit assessments of applicants to evaluate loan eligibility.
Manage the entire loan process from application to disbursement, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
Collaborate with legal, technical, and valuation teams to verify property ownership, valuation, and legal clearances.
Ensure adherence to the organization’s credit policies and risk management guidelines.
Customer Relationship Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for LAP customers, addressing queries, managing relationships, and providing regular updates on loan status.
Ensure smooth communication and coordination between customers and internal teams.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, legal guidelines, and internal policies related to LAP.
Monitor loan performance post-disbursement, track repayments, and proactively address any potential risks.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the sales, credit, and operations teams to ensure seamless loan processing and customer satisfaction.
Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff, providing guidance on LAP processes and risk assessment.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare and submit regular reports on loan disbursements, portfolio performance, and market trends.
Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, loan applications, and related documents.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of loan against property products, underwriting, and market trends.
Excellent understanding of credit analysis, financial ratios, and property valuation.
Strong customer relationship management and communication skills.
Analytical mindset with strong decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of legal and compliance requirements for secured lending.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is preferred.
4-6 years of experience in loan against property, mortgage lending, or retail banking.
Proven track record of successful loan processing and customer relationship management.
Experience in handling high-value loans is an advantage
