The Opportunity
We’re seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to join our innovative Devices Squad within the Gallagher Research and Development Group. As an essential member of the team, you’ll work across the product development lifecycle—assembling and testing electronic circuits, entering technical data into systems like SAP, and collaborating closely with product development, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product implementation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Assisting Electronics Engineers in prototyping and testing electronic circuits and products to high standards
Procuring components and building prototypes on schedule
Evaluating, selecting, and substituting electronic components without compromising product performance or reliability
Helping identify root causes of electronic issues and supporting resolution during design verification
Maintaining accurate bill of materials and technical data in Gallagher’s SAP system
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new or modified products into manufacturing processes
Actively engaging in the Learning First Product Development (LFPD) process to grow your skills and contribute to continuous improvement
The Fit
You are a hands-on technician passionate about electronics, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. You enjoy building circuits, troubleshooting, and working closely with engineers to deliver robust, cost-effective solutions.
To succeed, you’ll need:
NZQA Level 6 certificate or diploma in electronics (or equivalent)
Practical technician experience constructing and diagnosing electronic circuits
Competence in soldering and using test equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters
Comfort working with computers and systems such as SAP or other MRP platforms
Experience working in product development and manufacturing environments
A collaborative, growth mindset with strong communication skills and willingness to contribute to team success
Why Gallagher?
At Gallagher, we thrive on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. As a Product Integration Engineer in our Devices Squad, you’ll help ensure the seamless operation of our cutting-edge security devices, all within a supportive, flexible environment that values trust and balance.
