Job description, work day and responsibilities
As the Vice President - Consumer and Real Estate, you will be responsible for leading the administration of all consumer and real estate credit activities, including direct and indirect consumer loans, mortgage loans, credit cards, and other lending products.
You will stay abreast of current trends, economic, financial, and regulatory developments, and manage workflow efficiencies to provide excellent service levels to the frontlines and the general membership.
• You will develop, recommend, and implement strategies, policies, procedures, and training programs for the credit union's consumer and mortgage lending operations.
• You will develop and implement consumer and mortgage loan products, policies, guidelines, and procedures to meet our members' needs.
• You will coordinate training to develop branch and departmental employees and ensure proper dissemination of program and compliance rules and regulations.
• You will manage and work with staff in providing Consumer and Mortgage related credit decisions in accordance with Credit Union underwriting guidelines.
• You will continually seek to develop and implement departmental initiatives to increase operational efficiencies and effectiveness.
• You will manage staff, workflow, and productivity of the department, including staffing, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, mentoring, career pathing, disciplining, training, equipping, and actively meeting with direct reports to keep them informed and build fellowship, pride, and loyalty within the department.
• You will keep abreast of current loan programs, lending trends, and changes in the secondary market guidelines and regulations.
• You will participate in and respond to audits and examinations, all related inquiries, requests, and report findings for the department.
• You will ensure the completion and quality of consumer and mortgage loan documentation, including Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data maintained for the safety and legal requirements of the Credit Union.
• You will recommend salary adjustments, lending authority, promotions, disciplinary actions, discharges, and other personnel-related needs, actions, or activities.
• You will assist in marketing campaigns to expand and/or preserve the loan portfolio in an effort to meet or exceed lending goals and initiatives.
