Job Description

Job description
🍊Our mission

All new medicines need to undergo clinical trials to show they’re safe and effective. But today’s clinical trial infrastructure is stuck in the past, and the cost of developing new medicines has skyrocketed as a result. Patients have to wait longer and pay more for new treatments.

Our mission is to fix this; we use software to help innovative companies run faster, more reliable, and patient-friendly clinical trials. We’re still a young company, but we’ve already had a big impact. Since founding the company in March 2021 we’ve helped run over 100 clinical trials involving tens of thousands of patients, with a customer NPS of 100.

We recently raised a $55m Series B round from Balderton Capital, with support from Creandum, Firstminute, Seedcamp, and Visionaries.

🍊About the role

We're looking for an exceptional Finance Associate to join our team and help us scale our finance operations during this exciting period of growth. You'll be exposed to a wide range of finance processes and gain hands-on experience across core financial operations, systems, and controls. You'll develop strong foundational skills with the potential to pursue a professional accountancy qualification sponsored by Lindus.

This is a great opportunity for someone in the early stages of their finance career who wants to broaden their experience, learn quickly, and contribute to building a more efficient, tech-enabled finance function.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting day-to-day operations, while also contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives. Some tasks will be hands-on and operational, but we’re actively working to reduce manual work and improve the scalability of the team.

🍊About you

We'd like to hear from you if…
• You want to experience a high-growth, mission-driven VC funded scale up environment
• You have at least 1 year of work experience, preferably in a start up or high growth environment
• You have a basic grasp of financial principles (formal accounting experience not required for the right candidate)
• You show a genuine interest in finance with an eagerness to build your career as a Chartered Accountant
• You are open to feedback and possess a growth mindset
• You offer a high level of numeracy that will translate into working effectively with financial data and systems
• You are curious to learn new tools and ways of working. Experience working with spreadsheets (Google Sheets) including composing and editing formulas is a plus
• You’re proactive and can show strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• You are high agency and can demonstrate a bias for action
• You share in our passion for our mission: to transform clinical trials

🍊What you'll be responsible for:

Finance Operations & Systems
• Coordinate supplier onboarding and manage supplier queries, using digital tools to improve turnaround and visibility
• Support the processing of supplier invoices and employee expenses, with a focus on reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy through automation
• Assist in maintaining up-to-date and accurate bank reconciliations within Xero, escalating exceptions where needed
• Help prepare and raise customer invoices, and support proactive follow-up of outstanding balances using scalable workflows
• Support the Finance team in documenting and refining operational processes as we improve the maturity of our systems

Financial Control & Compliance
• Assist with the month-end close process, including helping ensure expense and receipt compliance is in line with policy
• Maintain well-organised digital financial records to support internal control and audit readiness
• Contribute to maintaining financial controls and encouraging consistent, simple processes across teams

Projects & Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to finance improvement initiatives - such as the more efficient use of Xero, improved workflows, or automation of routine tasks
• Get involved in small projects focused on improving reporting, reducing manual work, or enhancing internal controls
• Support ad hoc analysis and reporting that informs operational or commercial decision-making
• Assist with the implementation of new tools or process changes that support a more scalable finance function
• Take on more responsibility as you grow with Lindus and the finance function, with support and clear opportunities to develop into more senior roles over time.

🍊What we offer:
• Financial support to study towards a UK recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. CIMA)
• Unlimited holidays; everyone is encouraged to take off at least 28 days each year
• £60 monthly wellness allowance with complete flexibility on how to spend this including opting in to a company private health insurance scheme through AXA, a wellhub membership and more!
• Access to gym and retail discounts through our benefits platform Happl.
• Enhanced Parental Leave - 16 weeks full pay for primary care giver & 6 weeks full pay for secondary care giver
• Cycle to work and other salary sacrifice schemes
• Regular whole company and team events, both in person and virtually!
• £1,000 Learning and Development allowance each year to put towards courses, certifications and development
• A well stocked pantry and drinks fridge, Monday breakfast spread and catered team lunch on a Thursday for the UK office every week!
• Make an impact across all areas of our business and fix one of the world’s most broken industries
• Competitive salary, plus meaningful stock options
• Flexible working; we have an incredible office near London Bridge and encourage people to work 3 days per week from the office.
• Regular charity events and fundraising opportunities through our charity partnership with the Forward Trust.

🍊Our hiring process:
• Initial conversation with Soph (Senior Talent) - 30 minutes
• Second interview with Tanja (Head of Finance) - 30 minutes
• Functional take home task, then present the completed task with Tanja, & Yuan (Finance Director) - 45 minutes
• Values interview with a Co-Founder and wider team member - 30 minutes
