Job Overview
Lead and oversee all operations at our Ship Construction Site (SCS) , overseeing the assembly, integration, and outfitting of ships and ship repair projects. Ensure timely, high-quality project delivery within budget, while upholding the highest Quality , safety and compliance standards.
This group is more than 100+ year old engineering & project-oriented conglomerate with businesses across Oil & Gas, Shipyard, Heavy Engineering , Textile, and Energy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee all site operations: Shipbuilding, repair, engineering, outfitting, trials, and commissioning.
• Manage and mentor department heads across core functions (engineering, outfitting, electrical, hull, commissioning, dock operations).
• Plan, execute, and monitor shipbuilding and repair projects from start to finish, achieving set milestones and deadlines.
• Coordinate across departments to ensure effective use of resources, materials, and manpower.
• Drive compliance with safety and environmental regulations (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001), conducting audits and mitigating risks.
• Maintain strict financial controls, track site expenditures, and apply cost-saving measures.
• Uphold quality standards throughout all processes, resolving issues promptly to reduce rework.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing process enhancements.
• Build strong working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and certification agencies.
Core Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Marine, Industrial Engineering, or similar field; master’s degree or certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are an advantage.
• At least 15- 20 years’ experience in shipbuilding or engineering project management, with 5+ years at a senior management level.
• Proven track record leading large, complex engineering operations and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of shipyard processes (fabrication, fitting, outfitting, commissioning).
• Excellent skills in project management, team leadership, quality assurance, and financial oversight.
• Familiarity with ERP/project management software and MS Office.
Desirable:
• Experience working with industry regulators and classification agencies.
• Strong team leadership and communication abilities.
