Ready to make an impact for communities across Aotearoa? Step into the role of our Head of Analytics and Insights at Whakarongorau. A unique opportunity to lead innovation at the heart of digital health and social care, transforming data into meaningful action.

Reporting directly to the Chief Support Services Officer, you’ll guide a dynamic, high-performing analytics team and collaborate with colleagues committed to positive change. In this pivotal leadership position, you’ll be at the forefront of our data strategy, transforming data into actionable insights that drive better health outcomes for all.

With a strong focus on ethical data use, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement, you’ll shape the future of care pathways and organisational performance

Qualifications
Mōu ake | About you

Ōu wheako ōu mātauranga hoki - Qualifications and experience

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Bachelor of Computer Science, or relevant tertiary education
Preference for candidates with experience in the healthcare sector
5+ years’ experience in a data leadership role
Experience with statistical process analysis database tools (SQL), data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
Experience with Microsoft Fabric an advantage
An aptitude for process analysis
An aptitude for maths, numbers, and ability to communicate data in common language
Ōu āheitanga ōu pūkenga hoki - Skills and competence

A commitment and ability to recognise opportunities and support initiatives to increase equity for Māori tāngata whai ora
A commitment to the diverse cultures of our service users and the needs of priority populations in Aotearoa
A strong awareness, understanding and application of Te Tiriti O Waitangi
Excellent computer skills and knowledge that includes advanced proficiency in Excel and Word, and use of reporting toolsets, databases and/or statistical analysis tools
An intuition for data, an ability to look at data and understand whether a report makes sense
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt in high-pressure situations, and maintain a strategic focus.
Uses sound judgement
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, including effective listening, relationship-building, and sound judgement when making decisions.
Flexible, resilient, and outcome-focused, with a commitment to team wellbeing and a readiness to say no when required to uphold priorities.
