The Wholesale Credit and Lending Value Stream is embarking on an exciting global journey, transforming our end-to-end Credit and Lending processes across two key business lines: the Global Commercial Bank and the Global Banking & Markets . The Wholesale Credit and Lending Value Stream is comprised of dedicated specialist teams called Sub-Value Streams and Enablers which are responsible for a defined scope and structure ensuring front-to-back enhancements and maintenance. Through this design the department can foster lasting change by enhancing technology and capabilities, promoting efficiency and automation, elevating risk management standards, and accelerating balance sheet velocity across the businesses. This is achieved by delivering innovative infrastructure and capabilities to revolutionize Credit & Lending experiences for our customers, colleagues, and regulators.

To accelerate Bank’s ability to respond to and fulfill the customer’s request for new credit, Wholesale Credit and Lending is working on introducing an advanced digital end-to-end workflow, automated and assisted decisioning supported by the latest advancements in AI and cloud technology.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Auto & Assisted Decisioning Sub Value Streams within Wholesale Credit & Lending Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

The newly created Auto & Assisted Decisioning Sub Value Stream requires a senior leader to manage and run the global teams based in our tech centers (India, China, Poland & Mexico), HK, UK and partner with all Wholesale Credit & Lending stakeholders. The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery and overall success of the automated and assisted decisioning system(s) for Digital Credit Platform, will supervise delivery leads and inform department management & stakeholders on progress and performance.

The role holder will have the control over the new-age automated and assisted decisioning Technology services for Commercial and Global Banking customers requiring Credit and Lending Products. The candidate will work with their fellow Sub Value Stream leads to help champion, lead, and support transformational activities and step change in ways of operating across the Credit & Lending teams.
• Responsible for delivering and managing a multi-year business case, meeting and where possible exceeding the OKRs - Improve the time-to-loan availability ("time to cash"), Increase in Auto & Assisted Decisioning, Reduce the loan origination and underwriting, Enabling migration of Auto & Assisted Decisioning systems from Legacy to strategic applications, Reduce the number of non-strategic applications in Wholesale Credit & Lending Technology estate
• Improve the efficacy and efficiency of the loan origination journey whilst placing automation and AI at the core of all journey servicing to drive productivity and enable best use of specialised talent
• Defining and executing our Wholesale Credit & Lending technology strategy, driving innovation, and overseeing the development and delivery of cutting-edge solutions with a tight control around Cost, Schedule and Quality aspects
• Increase customer & colleague satisfaction across all lending journeys & enable globally consistent colleague experience when interacting with the lending journeys. Responsible for improving the Relationship Manager ‘Ease Score’ for Credit & Lending journeys and enabling delivery of the packaged lending journey globally
• Actively collaborate with wider technology horizontals and the WCL sub value streams to manage Architecture & Design, DevOps Standards & Tools, Engineering, Application Support, IT Management Services, IT Quality, Data, IT People & Location Strategy, IT Sourcing & Vendor Management, IT Risk Management, Information Security, and Infrastructure teams.
• Accountable for large scale end-to-end delivery and control over technology Services related to Automated and Assisted Decisioning systems of the Digital Credit Platform
• Adheres to standards for the management of Resilience Risk as set out in the Group’s framework for Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk management, and Resilience Risks are managed within appetite
• Recruitment and leadership of talent, manage skill & performance, promote a culture of best practice / innovation / continuous improvement; support career development and drive a strategic outcome aligned future focused engineering discipline.
• Provide specialist technical knowledge and experience to influence adoption of best-in-class engineering practices and strong Agile/DevSecOps culture in Credit & Lending engineering teams supporting automated and assisted decisioning systems.
• Responsible for building and maturing the self-sustained DevOps teams to carry out the development, maintenance and support of the workflow systems
• Manage the Sub Value Stream Backlog, to prioritize quarterly delivery targets and resolve conflicts and manage dependencies
• Take high level concepts, ideas and data points turning them into insights and a series of tangible actions delivering real value, and then partnering with other business areas to build and deliver the execution plan
• Establish internal partnerships to elevate our customer experience overall with additional focus on customer segments where there is additional opportunity for growth or we have a duty of care to offer more bespoke support

Requirements
• A successful Technology Leader with broad knowledge of program management principles, practical agile experience, a strong technical background and proven experience in transforming the ways of working of a technology team, both regionally & globally
• Strong commercial acumen. The successful applicant should be able to balance technical excellence with commercial practicality, driving outcomes which take the business forward within a sound commercial context.
• Good working knowledge of Commercial Credit & Lending business and an excellent practical working knowledge of technology delivery is critical
• 15+ years of IT experience with strategic mindset and knowledge in any workflow platform, API Architecture and API Engineering such as REST, API Gateways and Management Platforms, Cloud-native stack, Spring boot.
• Knowledge of MS Power Platform and experience in digital score card lending
• Proven capability of leading and managing large scale applications working in a platform-oriented framework and an exceptional knowledge of the project lifecycle, and Agile / DevOps software engineering models, an Agile & DevOps evangelist who can help mature the organization
• Ability to manage business relationships globally to ensure and maintain relevance and appropriateness of IT strategy to emerging business priorities
• Ability to make technical decisions by staying abreast of advancements in related technologies and Drive Engineering & Service Efficiency / Excellence
• Communication and engagement skills are critical to the success of the role. The successful candidate will carry a strong professional presence with the ability to engage and communicate throughout the breadth and depth of the organization.
