The Role

We’re looking for an exceptional Head of People Experience & AI Workflows to join our senior leadership team and shape the future of how we work at Basis. You’ll be part culture architect, part performance optimiser, part AI champion and 100% integral to our success.

You’ll report directly to our CEO and sit at the heart of our strategy, crafting a purpose-driven, AI-native organisation that’s built to scale fast, stay lean, and empower every person here to do the most meaningful work of their lives.

Some of the things that you might be involved in include:

Build an AI-native, high-velocity culture, ensuring all staff have access to the best AI and internal communications tools to move fast.
Deploy organisation-wide AI tooling and embed a mindset across the business of AI adoption, ensuring low-leverage work is automated rather than delegated.
Monitor and analyse people experience data, providing actionable insights on ways to improve engagement, employee satisfaction, and organisational performance.
Deliver impactful L&D programs, leadership training, and a clear career development framework.
Own and operate our performance management and feedback systems - they’re built and running, and your job is to ensure they’re delivering insight, clarity, and growth.
Partner with managers to identify, address, and support underperformance.
Empower the talent team to work with managers and leadership on the creation of resource plans that enable us to achieve our business goals, overseeing the translation of these into a hiring plan and providing guidance and support when required.
Ensure compliance systems are humming - policies, training, payroll, documentation, and more.
This is not a standard HR role. We're looking for a true all-rounder - someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves building from scratch, and has the grit and creativity to make things happen.

What we're looking for:


7+ years leading a multi-disciplinary PX/People function; ideally in startups or high-growth teams.
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, Business Management, etc
Proven track record of owning end-to-end PX strategy and implementation in scaling organisations.
Deep knowledge across culture, engagement, L&D, performance, and organisational design.
Passion for AI and tech - you don’t need to be an expert, but you should be curious and willing to dive in and drive organisational adoption.
Fluency in PX data and analytics, with experience designing systems to track engagement and performance metrics.
Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills - you’ll be working with everyone, everywhere. You bring empathy, clarity, and the ability to "manage up" when required.
Experience managing budgets, policies, and compliance frameworks.
Ability to remain calm under pressure, and in the face of evolving priorities
