This Position reports to:
Health and Safety Manager
Your role and responsibilities
The incumbent of this position aspires to deepen his/her knowledge and assets in Environment, Health, Safety (EHS), has strong collaborative skills and prefers everything to be well structured. He/she is motivated to work with others and to make the work environment safer for everyone, thanks to his/her problem-solving skills and creativity.
The employee will spend a good part of his/her time in the various production and administrative areas to ensure that he/she supports internal teams in the development of best safety practices. The incumbent must therefore be motivated, organized and structured.
The trainee will work in the Environment, Health and Safety department, in close collaboration with the Infrastructure department. He/she will receive appropriate coaching and guidance according to his/her level of knowledge.
This role reports directly to the EHS Manager of the Quebec City site.
The work model for the role is: onsite
You will be mainly accountable for:
Supports departments in the implementation of the EHS program and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.
Conducts regular facility visits to identify hazards and risks to prevent injuries, spills or other EHS impacts.
Participates in the job safety analysis process.
Collaborates with managers, supervisors and staff to identify and implement corrective measures following the identification of behaviors.
Qualifications for the role
2 years in a university program in one of the following disciplines: health and safety, industrial relations, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering
Fluency in French and English
Asset: skills in industrial hygiene and/or ergonomic
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Good organizational skills with the ability to respect action plans and deadlines
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Customer-focused approach to work
Open attitude towards work assignments and new learning
