Join our Human Resource Team as a Talent Services Operations Specialist (HR Compliance Specialist) located in one of the following offices: Miramar, Orlando, Charlotte, Minneapolis and Houston.

This role can be remote or in-office, dependent of the office location. In-office presence my be required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to the Talent Services Operations Supervisor.
Position Summary
The Talent Services Operations Specialist will analyze background reports for incoming new hires and process client background check requests. This position works closely with the Director of Talent Service Operations and Talent Services Operations Supervisor to conduct an in-depth review of background checks in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and all applicable Data Protection legislations. The ideal candidate likes research, is resourceful, and enjoys solving complex issues. In addition, the Talent Services Operations Specialist possesses the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and is able to retain and accurately put together fact findings.
Key Responsibilities
Processes and reviews background reports under federal/state reporting guidelines and standards
Reviews the submitted CV/resume, application, transcripts and other provided documents against the background report to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness
Identifies and flags any discrepancies or gaps for further investigation; liaises with team to gather and verify pertinent facts provided in report
Communicates with office/recruiters with tact and diplomacy, to obtain missing information or to clarify details as quickly as possible
Reviews references provided; may need to contact professional references to verify employment history from time to time
Documents and prepares a thorough report of findings, provides summary to Talent Services Operations Supervisor, Director of Talent Services Operations and/or Director of Compliance to make informed placement decisions and sends clearance notice
Ensures accurate and prompt turnaround on all reports; conducts necessary research
Provides timely follow-up and follows through on all requests, reports, and escalations throughout the screening process; collaborates with teams to keep them informed of issues
Maintains accurate and up to date records, logs, and other needed documentation; files correspondences
Monitors status of Firmwide background checks and follows-up with offices as required
Initiates and tracks international, client, and vendor background check requests and issues clearances as appropriate
Drafts, distributes and tracks bar and court admission verifications and requests, as well as sends education and license verifications; responds to such requests from General Counsel, HRIS and Marketing teams; approves such requests in HCM (Workday)
Applies knowledge of business, legal, and industry best practices to clear applicants or take pre-adverse/adverse action in accordance with federal/state regulations
Assists with other department activities as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications & Prior Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Legal, Research, Human Resources, or related field preferred
5 years' experience in Legal, Research, Law Enforcement, Labor Relations, or Human Resources in a large or medium size organization
Thorough understanding of labor law, industry practices and social policies that may be pertinent to the business
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred but not required
Technology
Experience with HRIS/applicant tracking systems a plus; preferably experience with Workday
Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
The expected pay range for this position is:
$78,000 to $92,000 per year
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
