We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with recipes and food safety standards, maintaining a clean work environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction through attention to detail and consistent food presentation.

The minimum and maximum rate of pay or salary: $25-$30/hr. before tax
The minimum guaranteed hours of work per week: 30hrs

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with recipes and food safety standards, maintaining a clean work environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction through attention to detail and consistent food presentation.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and meet quality standards
Follow standardized recipes, including accurate measuring, weighing, and mixing of ingredients
Prepare and cook a variety of foods by grilling, steaming, boiling, or frying meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other dishes
Season food appropriately during cooking to enhance flavour
Portion, present, garnish, and arrange final dishes attractively
Occasionally serve food to guests when required
Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements and accommodate guest requests
Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and kitchen equipment
Monitor inventory levels at assigned stations and inform management when supplies are low
Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe work environment by cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils
Store food in temperature-controlled facilities to preserve quality
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times
Execute daily opening and closing kitchen procedures
May assist in planning menus and estimating food requirements
May train and support other kitchen staff or apprentices
The minimum qualification and work experience requirements:
Relevant NZQF Level 3 qualification OR
At least one years of relevant work experience
Other skills required:
Proficiency in the kitchen
Good communication with other staff and customer service skills.
Attention to detail
Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently
Flexible to work with a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
