Description:
Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Leasing Staff Accountant. The Leasing Staff Accountant is responsible for overall accounting duties for corporate operations of MHC Truck Leasing (MHCTL). Performs accounting, office, and clerical duties while supporting branch operations of MHCTL.
Prepares and reviews daily and monthly reports.
Prepares, reviews, and posts journal entries, special bills, and credits.
Prepares account analysis and reconciliations and research outstanding items.
Assists with operating and analytical reporting.
Assists with accounts payable and P.O. processing to ensure compliance with established procedures.
Regularly reviews general ledger detail and assists with month end closing procedures and financial statement review.
Trains others on all branch policies, procedures, and standards of MHCTL.
Assists with the documentation associated with truck sales.
Acts as a liaison between the branches and corporate office.
Oversees MHCTL’s credit card processing and supports branch operations through training and supervision of the process.
Mails statements and other customer correspondence; coordinate electronic office communication.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree specializing in accounting preferred.
Two years’ experience in accounting preferred.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel. Ability to learn and adapt to new software and technology is necessary. AS400 experience is a plus.
Requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, including ability to maintain electronic files.
Highly organized individual with a commitment to meeting deadlines, consistent attention to details, strong analytical skills, and flexibility to assume additional responsibilities.
Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to concurrently manage numerous open requests and tasks.
Must be a strong team player who is willing to take personal responsibility to meet all objectives.
