The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Communications Manager to lead and shape our communications strategy at Greater Western Water. Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, Engagement and Communications, you will lead a capable and committed team delivering work across media and government relations, brand, digital, incident communications and business partnering. You’ll be at the forefront of managing our reputation, leading public communications during incidents and supporting organisational priorities through effective campaigns.
As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will collaborate across the business and with external stakeholders to ensure every communication reflects our purpose: Trusted water services for our communities and future generations.
Responsibilities
Lead and support a skilled team
Drive integrated campaigns and external messaging that bring strategic priorities to life
Lead government and media engagement including issues and public information response in an incident
Shape and embed frameworks for communications governance and planning
Represent Greater Western Water on cross-industry collaborations
Skills & Experience
Proven communications experience within the water sector or utilities (Highly desirable)
Experience in leading strategic communications functions in complex environments
Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities
Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing, multidisciplinary teams
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with risk and issues acumen
Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field (Desirable)
Completion of Public Information Officer (PIO) training or demonstrated experience communicating during emergency or incident responses
