Position Overview
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive communication and marketing strategies. This individual will be responsible for creating engaging content, supporting various communication channels, and assisting with initiatives that enhance brand visibility, drive engagement, and support organizational objectives. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Management
Develop, write, and edit compelling content for a variety of platforms, including website, blog posts, newsletters, press releases, marketing collateral (brochures, flyers, presentations), and internal communications.
Assist in maintaining and updating website content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and brand consistency.
Curate and manage a library of digital assets, including photos, videos, and graphics.
Support the creation of engaging multimedia content (e.g., short videos, infographics) as needed.
Digital Marketing
Support email marketing efforts, including drafting copy, segmenting lists, and analyzing campaign performance.
Assist with basic SEO optimization for website and content.
Communications Support
Coordinate media relations activities, including drafting media advisories, press releases, and maintaining media lists.
Assist in internal communications, ensuring employees are well-informed and engaged.
Support the planning and execution of public relations initiatives.
Ensure all communications adhere to brand guidelines, style guides, and organizational messaging.
Marketing Support & Administration
Assist in the coordination and execution of marketing campaigns from concept to completion.
Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities.
Track and report on marketing and communication metrics (e.g., website traffic, email open rates) to evaluate campaign effectiveness.
Support the organization of events, webinars, and promotional activities, including logistics, registration, and promotional materials.
Coordinate with external vendors, agencies, and partners as required.
Perform administrative duties to support the communications and marketing team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
1-3 years of proven experience in a communications, marketing, or similar coordination role.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong portfolio of writing samples.
Proficiency in managing and creating content for various social media platforms.
Experience with content management systems (CMS) (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) is an asset.
Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
Basic understanding of graphic design principles and proficiency with design tools (e.g., Canva) is a strong asset.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) is an asset.
