Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Feature Writer to join our team covering the Neurology and Neuroscience topics. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of work experience covering impactful research developments, management of neurological conditions, neuroscience news or healthcare and possess excellent feature writing skills for lay readers. The candidate must have experience in writing on topics detailing the future of neurological health, such as how holistic approaches help manage the conditions, transformative practices, and cutting-edge technologies that are advancing diagnostics and treatments of neurological disorders, such as genetic and stem cell therapies or techniques. The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor’s or higher degree in sciences, preferably specialisation in neurology and the ability to write compelling narratives. The job will require connecting with global and Indian experts – researchers and clinicians - people who have overcome common and uncommon health conditions, and others as needed for the stories.

The candidate should also be open to attending and the timely coverage of seminars, conferences and meets organised in Bengaluru or online.

Key Responsibilities:
• Research and write in-depth feature articles and news stories on a spectrum of neurology topics relatable to laypersons.
• Conduct interviews with global and Indian experts, patients, and other stakeholders to gather information for the articles.
• Write copies that are easy to understand for the general readers while building compelling narratives.
• Keep abreast of emerging trends in the health and wellness industry and identify new topics for coverage.
• Cover events and seminars as required.
• Ensure accuracy and credibility of all content by fact-checking and verifying sources.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to develop new and engaging content ideas.
• Design graphic elements on Canva for the stories as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor or higher in sciences with a good knowledge of neurology concepts. Specialisation in neurology is an added advantage.
• 2-5 years of experience in feature writing, preferably in the healthcare or science domain.
• Working knowledge of Canva
• Familiar with MS Word, Excel, PPT
• Excellent research and writing skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, concisely and engagingly for the general readers.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Must be a team player willing to work on collaborative projects as required
• Strong networking skills with the ability to connect with global and Indian experts, patients, and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of digital publishing platforms and content management systems.
• Familiarity with SEO optimisation and social media trends.
• Experience with multimedia content creation, such as podcasts and videos, is a plus.
