At Bluebird Care Portsmouth, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our care staff. Alongside NVQs in Health and Social Care, we offer opportunities to expand your expertise through additional vocational qualifications, allowing you to specialise in specific areas of care.

We are excited to announce an internal opportunity for a Mental Health Care Champion. This role is designed to enhance the support available to our staff and customers, focusing on mental health care.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care to meet the individual needs of each customer.
• Respect each customer’s preferences and lifestyle choices in how care is delivered.
• Mentor and support new care assistants, especially during their probation period, ensuring they understand and apply Bluebird Care’s policies and procedures.
• Offer expert advice to staff and help them carry out their duties safely, guiding them when to seek help and report concerns.
• Participate in training and share insights to help colleagues further their knowledge and skills in mental health care.
• Be available to support staff outside your normal availability when required to meet urgent needs.

• The ability to nurture and motivate others while maintaining a calm and understanding approach.
