We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager - QLD to lead day-to-day operations and drive strategic improvements across our warehousing facilities. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone passionate about operational excellence, team development, and customer satisfaction.
This role is responsible for managing operational budget performance at the Brisbane site, ensuring the implementation and compliance of SOPs across Queensland’s nine branches, maintaining service quality, and supporting the development of the QLD operational team in collaboration with local business managers.
The role is supported by a very well tenured team and offers close interaction with senior management to deliver on the business operational strategy. You will be working with some great people and will be supported by a Management team that has extensive industry experience. Annual salary reviews, industry and ongoing operations training will be provided. This is a controlling operational role with an opportunity to make a difference.
What will you be doing?
You will be calling on your previous operations and management experience, whilst using the skills and techniques we will teach you, to achieve company objectives. You will be working as part of an enthusiastic team with the objective to meeting set KPI’s. Specifically, you will:
Oversee all warehouse operations, ensuring a secure, compliant, efficient, and professionally managed facilities.
Plan and manage future warehouse development and major projects, including racking installations, carton movements, and secure document destruction.
Drive continuous improvement by reviewing work practices, monitoring KPIs, and analysing trends to boost productivity and service quality.
Ensure operational continuity through equipment maintenance, resource planning, and vetting of suppliers and contractors.
Lead staff onboarding and training, ensuring inductions meet WHS and quality standards, and identifying ongoing development opportunities.
Recruit and build high-performing teams in collaboration with the Branch Manager, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
Drive operational performance through goal-setting, KPI monitoring, and ensuring staff competence in warehouse systems.
Maintain strong internal communication, fostering collaboration between warehouse and office teams and keeping HR informed of people-related matters.
Address customer service issues promptly, supporting admin staff, sales staff and escalating unresolved matters to maintain service excellence.
About You
Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations management.
Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of developing high-performing teams and maintaining long-term relationships.
Sound understanding of WHS, quality assurance, and industrial relations practices.
Strong communication (written and oral), analytical, and decision-making skills.
Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems; familiarity with RSSQL is highly desirable.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
A customer-first mindset with a strong commitment to service excellence.
Minimum 3 years High Level Operational Management experience.
Proficient in Microsoft suite, including Teams & SharePoint.
