Overview:
BW Gold is a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc (“Artemis”). Artemis is listed on the TSX Venture exchange, and is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. Our current focus is construction of the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to join an entrepreneurial organization focused on technical excellence without the bureaucracy of larger firms. You will have the ability to make a significant contribution to the project team as the Company pursues the disciplined development of the Blackwater Mine. Artemis Gold received its BC Mines Act permit for Blackwater Mine in March 2023 enabling the project to move into major works construction.
Location: Blackwater Mine Site
Schedule: Three (3) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
Planning:
Work with the management team to establish the direction and the mid to long term strategies for the processing team.
Identify options and implement actions to adopt best practices for processing.
Operational Leadership:
Establish production targets, ensure processing throughput achieves the budget plan and adjust or deal with issues as they arise.
Direct and supervise all processing operations to achieve production targets, quality standards, and safety goals.
Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize resource utilization.
Personnel Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of processing staff, including operators and technical staff.
Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement within the processing workforce.
Ensure direct reports are developed, trained, and coached to obtain optimum efficiencies.
Assist with supporting employees within the Employee Development Pathway and maintaining appropriate records.
Safety and Compliance:
Champion and enforce safety protocols and best practices to create a safe working environment.
Conduct regular safety audits and take corrective actions to mitigate potential hazards.
Maintenance Coordination:
Collaborate with the maintenance team.
Ensure that equipment and machinery are properly operated to prevent unplanned downtime.
Cost Management:
Prepare the processing production budget based on information from the overall mine budget and business plan objectives.
Monitor and control operational costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
Implement efficiency measures to optimize resource utilization and reduce waste.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or related field required.
15+ years of processing experience.
