About the Faculty of Continuing Education
Mount Royal University’s Faculty of Continuing Education has provided high quality education to the Calgary community and beyond for more than 75 years. Serving more than 30,000 students per year, we offer a suite of Ministry of Advanced Education-approved programs (occupational programs in massage, personal fitness trainer and funeral education; academic upgrading; and our Transitional Vocational Programming), over 60 programs and 350+ courses to support professional and personal development in a wide range of topics, and our Conservatory (which offers a broad range of music and speech arts programming). Our courses cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to business, technology and health. These courses are offered in a variety of formats on campus, online, in the workplace, and in the community.
About the Role
Reporting to the Vice Dean, Faculty of Continuing Education , the Program Administrator is part of the faculty leadership team and is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction, and administration of a portfolio of programs including Academic Upgrading and Professional and Continuing Educations programs. The Program Administrator is responsible for ensuring that programs and courses are viable and revenue generating. Duties within this portfolio include program and course development and administration, human resource development, budget administration and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Develop strategic and operational program plans
Conduct needs assessments, analyze data, evaluate priorities with a focus on optimizing the student experience
Develop sustainable business plans that achieve the revenue generation goals for the faculty
Research, develop and utilize processes and tools for program and course development
Plan and monitor strategic enrolment, recruitment and marketing strategies
Plan annual and multi-year budgets in consultation with members of the Dean's Advisory Group and programming team
Assess financial impacts of course and program development, modification and suspension
Conduct regular team meetings
Identify training as required for staff, instructors and subject matter experts
Onboard and train new staff
Represent the faculty on internal and external committees as required.
Qualifications
University Bachelor Degree is required
University Master Degree of Business Administration preferred
5 to 7 years of direct related experience in program administration
Knowledge of adult learning principles
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish trust and build relationships with people at all levels of an organization
Exceptional critical thinking skills
Experience in budget development including forecasting, monitoring spending, analysis and reporting
Salary: $ 76,640- $ +6,+63 per annum.
