Investment and Technology is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning and is responsible for leading and managing the investment lifecycle; drives commercial advice & negotiations to facilitate reform; and enables core delivery through Finance, Procurement & Enterprise technology.

About the branch

Enterprise Technology is a Division of the Investment and Technology Group which defines investment strategy and deliver commercial and information technology services to drive high performance and improved commercial outcomes within the department.

The Solution Design and Delivery Branch in Enterprise Technology Division focuses on delivering IT services and solutions that unite people, process and systems to form an integrated, high performing and efficient Department of Transport and Planning. The team thrives on working collaboratively with its stakeholders to achieve exceptional results for the department. The Solution Design and Delivery Branch is responsible for delivering IT enabled change across the department with a significant portfolio of work currently underway and in the pipeline.

We’re focused on outcomes that deliver more choice, connections and confidence in our travel, ensuring the whole transport network works as one to deliver better services and outcomes.


About the Role

This is a Fixed Term, full-time Position until 31/12/2026.

The role of the Project Support Officer provides general support to the Program and Projects being run by Solution Design and Delivery under the guidance of the respective managers and the Director. This role is responsible for supporting the smooth delivery of projects in accordance with policies and procedures.

Position Outcomes

The successful candidate will require to provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support across SD&D branch functions including resource and asset management, stakeholder training, project governance, recruitment, PMO documentation, financial and vendor processes while promoting project management frameworks and ensuring compliance with relevant public administration duties.

Understands concepts enabling improvements in critical thinking and problem solving.
Project Delivery (Foundational) Executes work tasks against plan; where plans are not defined, prioritises tasks in line with the urgency and impact of tasks; Utilises approved task management tools; Maintains accurate project records.
Digital and Technological Literacy (Foundational) Performs a range of tasks through digital tools e.g. Microsoft suite of application of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
Stakeholder Management (Foundational) Responds to clients’ needs; Keeps the client or stakeholder up to date with issues and developments; Promptly follows through on inquiries, requests and complaints; Takes responsibility for correcting problems promptly.
Time Management (Foundational) - Effective time management and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a dynamic project environment.
In addition to the above, the candidate must demonstrate flexibility, collaboration, and resilience by quickly adapting to change, fostering a culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing, and maintaining composure and decisiveness under pressure to guide teams through challenges.


Qualifications and Experience

Desirable

Experience working in administration or projects.
Relevant tertiary qualification in project management, administration, business.
